Half Gods (2018 - present)

When I walk through the forests of the Pacific Northwest, whether they are second, third, or fourth-growth stands, I see stumps nearly mythological in size sitting between the trees. I wonder: were humans that much bigger too? Almost spiritual, they squat like totems or headstones. In a few generations, these stumps will finish their decomposition, and people will walk through, no longer wondering how big they would have been.

“Already the trees are a myth, half gods, half giants in whom nobody believes.”
